But This Is Not Exploitation

Last week, the day of the Aurora theater shooting Breitbart.com spent hours following every celebrity Twitter account to keep a record of every one who mentioned gun control.  Oddly, they did not think Louie Gohmert worth mentioning.  He said:

“You know what really gets me, as a Christian, is to see the ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs, and then some senseless crazy act of a derelict takes place.”

Because that is what caused the violence.  Is your god that pissy and small, Louie?  Or Russell Pierce of AZ:

“Had someone been prepared and armed they could have stopped this ‘bad’ man from most of this tragedy,” he wrote. “All that was needed is one Courages/Brave man prepared mentally or otherwise to stop this it could have been done.”

“Really, those people who got shot and killed by the guy with a gun able to shoot 100 rounds in a minute were at fault.  Listen people…if enough of you rushed him, he could have been stopped!  Sure, you would have had to climb over the dead people who were ahead of you…but eventually, you would have gotten there.”  Bryan “Douchebag” Fischer tweeted:

“Chick-fil-A provides free meals to first responders in CO. Let’s see Big Gay demonize that.”

Uh huh.  No exploitation there.  Gary Newcombe of Truth In Action Ministries claimed that it is our lack of fear of hell that causes the violence.  Of course, Newcombe’s logic ignores all sorts of facts…such as these types of mass killing are not unique to modern times.  But whatever.  Fred Jackson of the American Family Association said:

“I have to think that all of this, whether it’s the Hollywood movies, whether it’s what we see on the internets [sic], whether it’s liberal bias in the media, whether it’s our politicians changing public policy, I think all of those somehow have fit together — and I have to say also churches who are leaving the authority of Scripture and losing their fear of God — all of those things have seem to have come together to give us these kinds of incidents.”

Matt Barber of the “Liberty Council” said the shooting is no different than what happens at Planned Parenthood every day.  Cause he is classy like that.

But yeah…ABC and Cher were the real scumbags exploiting the tragedy.

On the other hand?  Christian Bale went to Aurora to spend time with the shooting victims.  How is it Godless Hollywood manages a better, kinder, gentler more faithful and self controlled response filled with goodness than people who claim to have a loving God in their heart?  How is it Godless Hollywood manages to outclass these alleged men of God?

  1. I truly, truly wonder if many of these people have some form of mental defect that prevents them from seeing their actions as they truly are.

I dislike Chik-Fil-A, but if someone tweeted about “Chick-Fil-A is giving free meals to first responders, a truly honorable act” or such, it would seem like just that.
When you go “let’s see Big Gay try to demonize that.” It truly comes across less like CFA is doing it because it’s the right thing to do & more like they’re doing it to piss off those opposed to them.

When your response to a horrible tragedy is to talk about how “Well this wouldn’t have happened if you all would just give my religion special privileges & encourage people to pray to Him in school”

That does not encourage ANYONE who does not already agree with you 100% to convert to your way of thinking.
It merely causes people who may agree less than 100% to question who they ally themselves with and drop the percentage of agreement.

I also must point out the irony “Lack of fear of hell” is what causes these things?

Every person who kills abortion doctors or such is convinced they’re going to heaven, right?
Because all they need to do is ask God to forgive them, right?

The only real difference between the “Just ask Jesus and anything you did before no longer counts.” school of Christianity & not beleiving in hell at all is if you’re going to kill a bunch of people you need to stay alive long enough to pray for forgiveness afterwards.

(NOTE: I know not ALL Christians subscribe to the “just say you’re sorry’ concept of salvation, I just mean for those who do subscribe to it)

  2. Well, gosh, Russell Pearce, maybe one of those courageous men could’ve jumped the shooter if the shooter ACTUALLY HAD TO STOP AND RELOAD EARLIER AND MORE OFTEN, huh? Funny how he and Gohmert never bring up THAT scenario, isn’t it?
