Apparently, for the past thirteen years, Clarence Thomas has not acknowledged his wife’s income from her conservative activism. He “corrected the error,” and his defense was “he didn’t understand the filing instructions.” Except that before 1996? He did acknowledge her income. So, apparently, it got really complex after 1996.
Does it really mean anything? I suppose not. Well, other than a guy who we expect to intelligently discern the meaning of the Constitution didn’t understand “Spouses Income” on a disclosure form.
(I continue to be amazed at the respect given Thomas and Scalia as authorities in anything)
