Satanic Deaths and the Discovery of John Cusack

Apparently, John Cusack freaked out a bit on Twitter.  A rather silly rant, but I would never have known about it if not for Fox News, since I do not follow John on Twitter.  After reading his tweets?  I may have to change that:

“I AM FOR A SATANIC DEATH CULT CENTER AT FOX NEWS HQ AND OUTSIDE THE OFFICES ORDICK ARMEYAND NEWT GINGRICH-and all the GOP WELFARE FREAKS.”

Oh, John, John, John…what the heck does that even mean?!

Fox could not just leave it at that.  They had to analyze it and the possible threat Cusack’s Twitter activity could cause in the article.

First off:

Cusack has long been outspoken about politics. He supported Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election and has contributed to The Huffington Post, but this is the first known time he has stooped to the level of making threats.

Really, Fox?  That is “making a threat”?  Imagining fantasy Satanic Cults out to get people seems like it would be right up Fox’s alley.  But seriously…that tweet constituted a threat?

But it gets better…

Cooper Lawrence, the author of “Cult of Celebrity” told Fox 411: “The fear isn’t that a celebrity will influence someone to do something violent or out of character due to the sheer devotion to the celebrity, the fear is that someone who is already vulnerable, mentally disturbed, already considering something dangerous, may be encouraged to do so if it is advocated by their favorite star,”

Really, Cooper?  Of course, I should not be so flip.  There was that time a woman armed herself and went hunting for Fema Concentration camps.  Or that guy who went to shoot up a non-profit organization and ended up in a shoot out with police.  Both people heard about their targets from one celebrity.  Fox star Glenn Beck.

On the other side, there was the gentleman who took people hostage in the offices of the Discovery Channel…the idiot was protesting the programming on the Discovery Networks.  Supposedly he was inspired by Al Gores and Inconvenient Truth and a book by a guy named Daniel Quinn.  Among his many absurd demands were promoting sterilization-which neither Gore nor Quinn ever supported in their work.  So, that’s one nut job lefty terrorist since Obama’s presidency began and it resulted in only the terrorist’s death.  Right wing terrorists?*  Several police officers, a doctor and others dead.  I bet the Fox spin is “Al Gore inspires Gunman!”

*This would include Islamic Radicals, who are almost universally fight for their extreme conservative version of the faith.
