Just more proof for what I’ve been saying for a while, it doesn’t matter what Obama does, to the far right he MUST be wrong.
I can only imagine the level of panic we’d be seeing if he actually passed some of the laws Bush passed.
(Look at how they react to health care and ONLY having enough nukes to destroy the planet 7 times over.
Imagine if Obama had been the one to pass the Patriot Act!)
Imagine if Obama pitched a right to have warrant-less wire taps.
Or better yet, the Military Commisions Act of 2006
Which said the label of “Unlawful Enemy Combatant” could be applied to
“a person who, before, on, or after the date of the enactment of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, has been determined to be an unlawful enemy combatant by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal or another competent tribunal established under the authority of the President or the Secretary of Defense.”
In laymans terms.
All it takes is 3 folks the President appoints to saying you are a terrorist and you can be treated like one.
I can only imagine the rights reaction of Obama even thought about passing something like that.
