Oh my.
You know, I’m a man who does rarely curse.
I do let some slip by, but most days the worse you get out of me is “Bloody Hell”
I was 16 when Spike first appeared on Buffy, and I liked the character enough I started using the phrase as a bit of a joke.
For some reason, “Bloody” and “bloody hell” stuck, and is literally the first curse I will utter in most circumstances.
Anyway, even as a relative non-curser, this is still one of the stupidest things I’ve seen.
“Hatch, who traveled to the Capitol with his family to support the resolution, said he sees a link between foul-mouthed incivility and other forms of problem behavior, such as drug use and bullying.”
Uhm, yeah, allow me to introduce them to the “Correlation =/= Causation”thing.
Yeah, a person who uses drugs and bullies people probably also curses a lot.
But you know what, someone who curses alot can also be a generally nice person.
Look at a couple of the movie writers who do the most curse words.
Quentin Tarantino & Kevin Smith.
Look at just about any interview with them, they both seem like a couple of the nicest guys you could meet.
A little weird sure, but nice.
The fact bad people curse doesn’t mean people who curse are bad people.
